Mayne Stage wedding with Lei and Jason! We could not wait to be part of this amazing wedding day! We first met Lei and Jason last year when we shot their engagement session in Downtown Chicago. Right from the start we knew this is going to be one of the kind, artistic session. They wanted to recreate the retro 1920’s look and chose Gilt bar for it’s interior design. It was almost like shooting an editorial for a fashion magazine because they brought the most original outfits and props with them!
For their wedding Lei and Jason chose Mayne Stage. Mayne Stage is a beautiful space established in 1912 as a theater. It features performing stage and lounge and it really is a very unique choice of the wedding venue! It is also very challenging for photographers because it is very dark and not your typical wedding venue. Photos of this wedding are featured on Partyslate website.
We started the day with their getting ready photos. Lei had traditional Chinese dress for first part of the day which included Chinese traditions like Tea ceremony and Games. It was really FUN to witness it!
After the first look we had a quick photo session at Loyola Park. The weather was perfect with blue skies and we had plenty of natural light. The wedding party was fun and easy to work with.
We headed back to the Mayne Stage to prepare for ceremony while their guest enjoyed the cocktail hour at the lounge.
Ceremony took place at the performing stage of the Mayne Stage, witnessed by many family members and friends. It also included some of the Chinese traditions followed by reading their personal and formal vows.
We are incredibly grateful for being part of Lei and Jason’s wedding day!
Congratulations again and thank you for choosing us to document your wedding!
